Academic Intervention

Academic Intervention Services:
Student proficiency is assessed using multiple measures in order to  identify individual areas of strength and pinpoint areas where support is needed.  This data is used to form small instructional groups that will  foster growth through targeted, meaningful learning activities both in and out of the classroom.

Reading Intervention: During our  book club sessions, students will engage in literacy activities to develop phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension.  Explicit and systematic instruction  is used to provide multisensory opportunities with a gradual release from modeling (I do); guided practice (we do) and independent work (you do).

Math Intervention:  During Math Lab, students work in small groups to foster development in areas including number relationships, number patterns, understanding number quantities and values, as well as critical thinking and problem solving strategies. We utilize rich math tasks and challenges, math games, targeted and meaningful exploration activities, and manipulatives to foster math appreciation and growth.
